When It Comes To Education, Geographic Barriers No Longer Exist
The list of colleges, universities and remote communities using broadband to offer online classes is growing every day, and the opportunities for providers are significant.
A survey of college professors involved with online classes indicates only a small percentage feel they’re maximizing their networks. At MIT, for instance, only 26 out of more than 1500 online classes include video.
Fast fiber networks and communication tools are hot topics on college campuses across the country.

The broadband revolution is alive and well, enabling equal opportunity in education.
What do you see as the biggest opportunities in the industry?
“Convergence of networks, new revolutionary services, the explosion of services over IP all point out to new business models delivering better quality, better content, better service to the final customer. There are huge opportunities for companies that are well positioned in the market to take advantage of this convergence and maximize value for their customers, their shareholders and the market.”
