The opening keynote of NXTcomm08 was given by Randall Stephenson, Chairman, CEO and President, AT&T, where he said AT&T is "about to connect another billion-plus people to the network”. Stephenson also showed off the new white iPhone which will be available starting July 11, 2008. Tuesday continued with Sol Trujillo of Telstra. The opening keynote session wrapped up with the ATIS TechThink Executive Panel: Transforming the Network, Transforming the Experience, which was lead by Susan Miller, President and CEO, of ATIS. Panel members included Pieter Poll, CTO, Qwest Chris Rice, Executive Vice President for Shared Services, AT&T and Mark Wegleitner, Senior Vice President of Technology and Network Planning, Verizon.

Wednesday morning's keynote session began with Denny Strigl, President and COO of Verizon. Strigl said “The history of our industry is built with great inventions, but creating a great invention is one thing, putting innovation to work for people is another."
The next keynoter was Dan Hesse, President and CEO, Sprint Nextel, said that by the end of the year Baltimore, Chicago and Washington DC will experience Sprint's WiMAX market. Hesse was followed by Scott McNealy, Chairman and Co-Founder, Sun Microsystems, who mentioned that all of Sun's software base is open source. Wednesday's keynote concluded with a Panel Discussion Broadband in the Local Loop which was lead by Andrew LaVallee, Technology Reporter Wall St. Journal. Dennis Hinkel, Vice President - Product Technology and Marketing, Cincinnati Bell Business Markets, Randy Nicklas, Chief Technology Officer, XO Communications and Ibrahim Gedeon, CTO, TELUS Communications.

The final keynotes of NXTcomm08 were given on Thursday morning. Thursday began with Richard R. Green, President & CEO, CableLabs, told the crowd that cable companies are prepared to deliver Internet access at minimum speeds of 160 Mb/s downstream and 120 Mb/s upstream, beginning as early as this year. Innovation within the telecommunications industry is at risk because of lower R&D spending, particularly at the component level, said Jagdeep Singh, President and CEO of Infinera, Thursday to the NXTcomm08 keynote audience. Next was a discussion, Mobile Entertainment Hits Its Inflection Point!, between Phil Asmundson, Vice Chairman & National Managing Partner – Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Deloitte LLP Jay Samit, CEO of Long Beach Studios. NXTcomm08's closing keynote was given by Mark Burnett, Hollywood Producer and Creator of Survivor and The Apprentice. Burnett shared his success story to the crowd.
