What They’re Saying About NXTcomm08 and the Industry
What do you see as the biggest opportunities in the industry?
“Opportunities abound in the so-called BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India, China) who are currently the global economic drivers. Telco networks here are expanding so fast it creates huge opportunities for all, whether you are dealing with network infrastructure or value added services and applications. By focusing on your strengths and forming partnerships to complete product offerings in your ecosystem, telecommunication equipment providers can move quickly into these markets and reap the rich rewards of fast expanding telecommunication networks in these economies.”

Future of the FTTH Technologies
Thursday, June 19 • 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM • Room S111
Globally, service providers are embracing fiber-to-the-home technologies to deliver subscriber bandwidth demand. In North America, larger carriers including Verizon and AT&T have selected Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) as the basis of their FTTH deployments. The industry is looking ahead. Future networks will have some degree of compatibility with the embedded based and help move service providers beyond delivering voice, video and data. This panel session will give a high level overview of different approaches on this topic from various equipment vendors. Each vendor will discuss the direction the industry is heading and present their perspective on how their portfolio will support subscriber future needs.
