Connected TV — Why TV is Joining the Internet Revolution
Wednesday, June 18 • 10:55 AM - 11:15 AM • Room S111
Until now, the television has remained an unconnected island of content in the digital home. With IPTV, service providers can deliver a wide array of content over their managed broadband networks. Separately, the Internet provides promising new sources of content and user generated video content that consumers can access on PCs. Still, these fundamentally different ways of watching television and films remain unrelated, side-by-side experiences. The industry challenge remains: how do we bring these together to deliver a truly connected experience that is both relevant to consumers and simple to use? Christine Heckart will introduce Microsoft’s vision of a new category of connected TV services that fundamentally changes today’s TV experience, pushing the boundaries to enhance the user experience. Learn how technology and services will bring video entertainment and communications to a whole new level, uniting an exciting new community of connected TV and content from the world.
